Property developer HBD has struck a deal with Costa Coffee for a new drive-thru at Airport Business Park Southend.
The deal is the latest in a series of announcements as work continues to progress quickly on the £90million scheme.
Covering 21-ha, Airport Business Park Southend is part of an ambitious new vision for the area. It is being delivered in a joint venture partnership between HBD and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, with 282 new jobs created since construction began on the new scheme.
Work is expected to begin in March following the completion of all the roads and service infrastructure, which has been delivered by HBD with funding from South East Local Enterprise Partnership and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council.
Harry Bunbury, Director at HBD, said: “We’re very pleased to be able to welcome Costa Coffee to Airport Business Park Southend – it’s an excellent brand and will undoubtedly prove popular both with businesses based on site as well as the local community in Southend.”
Cllr Kevin Robinson, cabinet member for business, culture and tourism for Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, said: “This is fantastic news, and a big boost for Airport Business Park. Even in these challenging times, businesses are showing a real enthusiasm to come to Southend-on-Sea, which is great for the town’s morale.”
HBD has secured outline planning permission for 1 million sq. ft. of flexible business space at Airport Business Park Southend, including large-scale industrial and warehousing space. IPECO Holdings – its first occupier – moved into its new 124, 000 sq. ft. building last year.
