Origin completes £20m INTER development

Origin, a joint venture partnership between HBD, part of Henry Boot, and Feldberg Capital, has completed its £20million industrial and logistics development, INTER.

The new scheme has delivered 71,000sq ft of prime industrial and logistics space in Welwyn Garden City and is expected to create up to 178 new jobs.

INTER has attracted strong interest from occupiers looking for sustainable space close to the region’s key transport routes. Just 2.5 miles from the A1M and 26 miles from central London, it is one of Hertfordshire’s best located I&L schemes.

Vivienne Clements, Executive Director at HBD, said: “Our goal at INTER was to create a scheme that not only meets the needs of today’s logistics and industrial occupiers but also supports long-term ESG objectives. INTER will play a key role in driving local employment, attracting new business investment into the region and setting a new benchmark for sustainable development in Welwyn Garden City.”

Jamie Acheson, Managing Director at Feldberg Capital, commented: “We’re pleased to see INTER reach PC — it’s a milestone project for Origin that reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable industrial space in strategic locations. The strong interest we’ve already seen from occupiers highlights the demand for modern, energy-efficient facilities in the region.”

The agents for INTER are Adroit Real Estate and Hollis Hockley.

Origin was launched in December 2024 to own and develop next-generation, ESG-compliant I&L assets in the UK’s mix-box market. It was seeded with an initial portfolio of three sites from HBD’s pipeline with a combined GDV of £100million. It aims to deliver £1bn of high-quality I&L schemes over the next seven years.
